FAQs
1) Where am I lodged? Who is/are my room-mates?
You will receive within a few days from Effie, who is playing as the Organizing Secretary of the School, the final rooming and the name and address of your farmhouse.
2) How to receive the School venue and my farmhouse if I'm coming by car?

3) I am arriving by train or plane. How can I reach the School venue?
If your arrival time is within the schedule of the School on Sunday 18th you will have 2 chances to get a bus-shuttle leaving from the train station and the airport
in due time. The same service will be provided on Saturday 24th, after the end of the lectures, to take you back to your departure place. The tentative timetables
of the shuttle service is the following:

4) Which are the seats of the School?
On Sunday 18th we will have our opening at the "Abbazia (Abbey) dei SS. Fabiano and Sebastiano" (http://www.comune.montesanpietro.bo.it/evedere.htm#d)
in the hamlet of BADIA, Via Mongiorgio 4 (see attached map).
Monday to Saturday we will be in the meeting room of the Tenuta Bonzara winery (http://www.bonzara.it/eng/farm_holiday_bologna.html)
in the hamlet of SAN CHIERLO, Via San Chierlo 37/A (see attached map).
5) I'm coming by car and arriving early on Sunday. What time can I check-in in my farmhouse?
You can leave your baggage and check-in at any time in Sunday morning. In this case it would be better
if you could call your hosts and tell them your arrival time in advance. Please consider that Sunday lunch is not
included in the registration fee but you can find, either in your farmhouse or in several other places, good food
for reasonable price (e.g. see http://www.comune.montesanpietro.bo.it/emangia2.htm).
6) I am arriving late or in a following day in Bologna. Can I reach the School venue by means of public transports?
In this case we cannot ensure you the free pick-up service at the train station/airport. From the airport you can reach by bus ("Aerobus"), leaving approximately every 15
minutes, the train station. In front of the train station is placed the "Autostazione" (bus station) where you can get a blue-line-bus N.686. The closest bus stop is "OCA PILASTRINO" in the
town of Monte San Pietro. The trip takes about 55'.You find all bus timetables and a useful Trip Planner in the website: http://www.atc.bo.it/english/index.asp.
You can of course get a taxi but the fare is pretty expensive for such a long distance (25 Km): about 40-50 €.

7) I am leaving before the School ends. How can I reach Bologna by means of public transports?
See the previous FAQ.
8) How do I move between my farmhouse and the seats of the School?
Farmhouse hosts or a shuttle service will drive you to the School in the morning. A shuttle service will drive you back to your farmhouse in the evening,
usually after dinner.
9) I am staying at the Residenza San Giovanni in Monte because I'm staying in Bologna some extra nights. How should I manage my lodging?
This extra-lodging is not included in the registration fee and is completely at your charge. You have to arrange with the reception all the details
of your payment (that can be done by credit card), key delivery, and check-in/check-out times.On the website of the Residenza (http://www.ceur.it/collegio-erasmus/engindex.htm)
you can find more details on how to reach it, prices, and services. Breakfast is not served but you can find many bars for an Italian breakfast all around.
Let me advertise a fantastic place in the neighborhood of the Residenza where you can taste the best "gelato" in Bologna: La Sorbetteria, Via Castiglione 44 (http://www.lasorbetteria.it/img/pdf/6.pdf).
10) Is there a chance to present my research activity during the School?
Yes, we have scheduled a specific session in the afternoon of Wednesday 21st. All of you who are interested are invited to prepare a POSTER or a short ORAL presentation of your research activity, pertinent with the topics of the School. If you wish to prepare an oral contribution (max 5 ppt slides) please let us know as soon as possible, sending us the title of your talk and a short abstract (max 1000 characters) _no later than Wednesday June 14th_. We will also have room for posters, so please let us know if you would like to take with you a poster related with your recent activities. Posters should be 1 meter wide (or less).
11) What is the program of the "Industry corners"?
We will have the chance to meet with several industries who work in the field of rehabilitation engineering or related technologies, and listen to their experience and history of success.
On Thursday 22nd we will visit the manufacturing site of Datasensor, a leading company for research, development, production and sales of photoelectric sensors and associated devices for detection, safety, measurement and inspection (www.datasensor.com).
12) Do I get credits for my attendance at the Summer School?
Yes, the school of Engineering at the Università di Bologna has acknowledged 2 ECTS credits to our course. If you want to learn more about ECTS credits visit http://www.crui.it/crui/ECTS/english/what.htm

14) Which social activities are programmed?
- the welcome concert, after the welcome buffet, on the evening of Sunday 18th. It is offered by the municipality of Monte San Pietro and includes:*
**"Iberia: Impressions of Spain from Boccherini to Rodrigo"***, played by"Opera Nova Guitar Quartet".
- a guided tour of *downtown Bologna* and its nine-century-old world oldest University, on Tuesday afternoon-evening. Dinner in Bologna not included in the registration fee.
- a tour of the *South-West Bologna province*, with its castles and historical buildings, on Thursday afternoon-evening. We will then have dinner together in the medieval village of Monteveglio.
- a short visit to the village of Guglielmo Marconi, the inventor who proved the feasibility of radio transmission, and the farewell dinner in Sasso Marconi, on Friday evening. We will have jazz music with an
